Nobel Prize
It's Nobel Prize season again. This year's Nobel Prize for Literature will be announced on Thursday, October 8. (There's a live webcast of the announcement at 11:00 GMT, which is 7 AM EDT.)
I'd also be happy with any of those three, bergman, especially William Trevor. I'd guess though that Philip Roth (and maybe even Pynchon) would probably be ahead of Cormac McCarthy in the queue, though of course you never know. As it stands, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Bob Dylan!

My hope: Alice Munro
Wouldn't suprise me: Cormac McCarthy
Darkhorse: William Trevor
bergman - I like that call. We'll see on Thursday!

Herta Mueller. At 50-1 odds, according to Ladbrokes. Par for the course for the Nobel Committee anymore.
