Friends in the NYTBR

I love it when friends of mine get their books mentioned in the New York Times, and the Sunday NYT Book Review is even better. Today it happened twice. First, the Poetry Chronicle mentions Bill Coyle’s first poetry collection, The God of this World to His Prophet. Considering how little attention poetry gets, this is very exciting and I'm anxious to get a copy of the book. (Order it from the publisher via the link on Bill's website.)

Then, in honor of the release of the paperback edition of Laila Lalami’s Hope and Other Dangerous Pursuits, the book was featured in Paperback Row. “This poetic first novel begins with the illegal journey of four Moroccans across the Strait of Gibraltar in an inflatable boat headed for Spain. Lalami then explores the circumstances leading to their harrowing passage and what awaits them.” I think you can order signed copies of the book from Laila's website.
