I heard Jay Parini being interviewed on NPR this afternoon and looked for more on the story. You may remember recently some teenagers recently had a party and trashed a home once used by Robert Frost in Ripton, Vermont. They were caught and charged, and part of their punishment--er, rehabilitation--was learning about Robert Frost from his biographer, the novelist Jay Parini, who teaches at nearby Middlebury College.
"I guess I was thinking that if these teens had a better understanding of who Robert Frost was and his contribution to our society, that they would be more respectful of other people's property in the future and would also learn something from the experience," said prosecutor John Quinn.
