Workshop

Our workshops met today in the Queens library. Our group, meeting with Don Lee, was excellent, and first we heard a little about how Ploughshares processes submissions. Then we went through the stories and I was pleased with the comments on my piece, although I did get some suggestions to think about. In late afternoon we had a publishing panel, open to the broader community, which, although it was mostly familiar, did reveal some person quirks of the panelists and their publications. Then we adjourned to the Village Tavern for dinner and I was fortunate to be seated across the table from Rob Spillman and Denise Shannon. Then at the after party at another bar, I had a chance to talk to Field Maloney, so I did successfully meet all the faculty. Fun and productive too.

The weekend winds up tomorrow morning with conferences and a brunch.
