Matt Warner and John Lawson

A few days ago, I set up an area Readings calendar. The first event was last night, readings by Matt Warner and John Lawson, both of whom are published by Raw Dog Screaming Press, of which Lawson is Editor-in-Chief. Lawson read poetry--he writes poetry, non-fiction and fiction--and Warner, who lives here in Staunton, read from his new novel, Eyes Everywhere, which was appealing to me, in large part because the protagonist works in a K Street law firm in Washington DC. It was a small crowd, mostly interested in the horror genre--that's what Warner writes--but a nice evening and an opportunity to meet other writers in the area.
