Book Awards
In response to my recent post about Walker Percy's The Moviegoer, in which I commented that it reminded me of its contemporary, Reveolutionary Road by Richard Yates, Michael Leone pointed out (thanks again, Michael) that both were finalists for the National Book Award in the same year, and Percy won. I wanted to find out what other books were nominated that year (1962, it turns out) and set Google to work. I still haven't found out (even the National Book Foundation, which gives the award, doesn't seem to have the information on its website), but I did find a fantastic site that has most information about book awards (except that for the NBA it doesn't go further back than the 1970s). Check this out: Book Award Annals.
