She is a name to recognize and follow, and to read. I am one of her biggest fans. She has a new novel coming out in July, "Once Upon a River." But anyone who cares about short fiction who has not yet read "American Salvage," a finalist for the National Book Award in 2009, or her earlier collection, "Women and Other Animals," I urge you to seek them out. She lives in Michigan, as I do, and I have been lucky enough to hear her read and talk about writing at various conferences and appearances in the past few years. She is fantastic and a true inspiration. I am proud we are from the same state. Thanks for giving her this attention on your blog. I hope I will be able to get a copy of this magazine.Barb Modracknoreply@blogger.com
